Enriching volume modelling with scalar fields

چکیده
A scalar eld is a generalisation of a surface function in dimension. Visualisation traditionally focuses on discrete speci cations of scalar elds (e.g., volume datasets). This paper discusses the role of continuous and procedural eld speci cations in volume visualisation and volume graphics, and the inter-operations between continuous and discrete speci cations. It demonstrates the di erent use of scalar elds through several modelling aspects, including constructive volume geometry and non-photorealistic textures, and presents our approaches to the creation of more photorealistic e ects in direct volume rendering.

Finite temperature correlation function of two dissipative massive scalar fields: Thermofield approach
The present paper aims at investigating the manner of two dissipative massive scalar fields. Two massive scalar fields that interact with a reservoir were considered and a reservoir was modeled by continuum Klein-Gordon fields. The Lagrangian of the total system was canonically quantized and the dynamics of the system was determined using the Euler-Lagrange equation. Then, the explicit form of the...
متن کاملCasimir effects of nano objects in fluctuating scalar and electromagnetic fields: Thermodynamic investigating
Casimir entropy is an important aspect of casimir effect and at the nanoscale is visible. In this paper, we employ the path integral method to obtain a general relation for casimir entropy and internal energy of arbitrary shaped objects in the presence of two, three and four dimension scalar fields and the electromagnetic field. For this purpose, using Lagrangian and based on a perturb...
متن کاملConstructive Volume Geometry
We present an algebraic framework, called Constructive Volume Geometry (CVG), for modelling complex spatial objects using combinational operations. By utilising scalar fields as fundamental building blocks, CVG provides high-level algebraic representations of objects that are defined mathematically or built upon sampled or simulated datasets. It models amorphous phenomena as well as solid objec...
متن کاملSimulation of Low Reynolds Number Isotropic Turbulence Including the Passive Scalar
Full simulations of homogeneous isotropic turbulence containing a homogeneous passive scalar were made at low Reynolds numbers and various Prandtl numbers. The results show that the spectral behavior of the two fields are quite similar; both fields decay as power-law functions of time. However. the decay exponent is quite dependent on both the Reynolds and Prandtl numbers. The decay exponent of...
متن کاملNUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CASIMIR EFFECT DUE TO A SCALAR FIELD
In this paper, we study the Casimir effect of a scalar field with Dirichlet boundary condition in some certain topologies. By numerical analysis we show that Casimir energy is a shape-dependent quantity. We also obtain the phase transition in different topologies in which the Casimir force changes from attractive to repulsive or vice versa. eararqr
